Reviews & Recognition

Trusted by patients across the islands

★★★★★

"I lived with a hip injury for 34 years. Two surgeons had turned me down, so I gave up — until I was referred to Dr. Morton. After surgery, taking those first walks with physical therapy, I was amazed how different life is now. I can't wait to spend more time playing outside with my two boys."

— Johan C., hip replacement patient
★★★★★

“The staff at Pacific Bone & Joint is the BEST TEAM I've seen by far — no comparison to others, including the mainland. Dr. Morton is very patient and explains things in words I understood.”

— Cindy W.
★★★★★

“Dr. Morton is not in a rush to get you under the knife. He went over all available options and considered how each would affect my professional life and leisure activities. Super knowledgeable and easy to talk to.”

— Andrea G.
★★★★★

“Dr. Morton did my left hip replacement with the anterior approach — a great experience. My hip is healed and I can move on without any more hip pain. Mahalo to the whole team!”

Not Ready for Surgery?

Non-surgical options come first

Surgery is rarely the first step. For many patients, non-surgical care relieves pain and keeps you active — and may delay or avoid joint replacement.

Physical therapy

Guided exercise and strengthening — a proven first-line treatment, in-house at PB&J.

Bracing & activity changes

Custom bracing and simple adjustments to offload painful joints while you stay active.

Image-guided injections

Cortisone and hyaluronic-acid (gel) injections for targeted, temporary relief in selected patients.

Orthobiologics: PRP & BMAC

Some patients see symptom relief. Evidence is evolving, usually not insured, and not a cure.

Oahu & Big Island

Four locations across Hawai‘i

Frequently asked questions

What does Pacific Bone & Joint treat?+

Who are the providers at Pacific Bone & Joint?+

Our team includes orthopedic surgeon Dr. Paul Norio Morton (hip & knee replacement), sports-medicine physician Dr. Ronnie Otieno, and licensed physical therapists, supported by an experienced clinical staff.

Do you offer same-day orthopedic care?+

Yes. Our Wiki Wiki Orthopedic Urgent Care provides same-day treatment for acute injuries such as sprains, fractures, and sudden joint pain — no appointment needed.

Do you take my insurance?+

We accept most Hawai‘i insurance plans and also offer self-pay options and CareCredit. Some plans require a PCP referral or prior authorization. Message us and our team will verify your coverage before your visit.

Where is Pacific Bone & Joint located?+

We have four locations across Hawai‘i: Honolulu and Waipahu on Oahu, and Hilo and Kona on the Big Island. We also welcome neighbor-island and out-of-state patients.

Do PRP or BMAC injections cure arthritis?+

No. Some patients experience symptom relief, but the evidence is still evolving, these are usually not covered by insurance, and they are not a cure or a substitute for joint replacement when it is indicated.
