Video visits with your orthopedic team
Everyone at Pacific Bone & Joint is offered video visits. They work well for follow-ups, imaging review, second opinions, and first conversations from the neighbor islands — without a flight or a drive across town.
A video visit does not replace an in-person exam. When we need to examine you or take new imaging, we will say so and help you schedule it.
How you connect

What a video visit works well for
In-Person Care
What still needs an in-person visit
Some things simply cannot be done over video. If any of these apply, we will schedule you at the clinic closest to you.
- A hands-on examination of a joint, ligament, or tendon
- New X-rays or ultrasound imaging
- Injections and other procedures
- Casting, splinting, and wound or incision checks that need to be seen up close
- Pre-operative evaluation before surgery is scheduled

Please Note
The limits of a video visit
A video visit does not replace an in-person examination, and what we can offer depends on the laws where you are located at the time of the visit. Please upload your imaging beforehand so we can make the most of your time. If something needs to be seen or treated in person, we will tell you and help you schedule it. Read our telemedicine disclaimer.
For chest pain, trouble breathing, or any life-threatening emergency, call 911. For urgent concerns after hours, call (808) 439-6201 — the answering service reaches the on-call provider.
Common Questions
Video visit questions, answered
Do I need to download an app?+
No. Hawai‘i patients are called and texted on Doximity at their appointment time and simply tap the link in the text. International patients open our doxy.me room in a web browser. Neither requires an app or an account.
Can my first visit be a video visit?+
Often, yes — especially for neighbor-island patients and second opinions, when imaging has been uploaded ahead of time. If we need to examine you or take new imaging, we will schedule an in-person visit at the clinic closest to you.
Can you review my MRI or X-rays over video?+
Yes, as long as they have been uploaded before the visit through our imaging upload link. We review them on screen with you and explain what we see.
Can I get an injection or a new X-ray over video?+
No. Injections, X-rays, ultrasound, casting, splinting, and hands-on examination all need an in-person visit. A video visit is a good way to decide together whether one of those is the right next step.
I live outside the United States. Can I still have a video visit?+
Yes. International patients meet us through doxy.me. What we are able to offer depends on the laws where you are located, so please read our telemedicine disclaimer and upload your imaging in advance. Many international patients use a video visit to plan a trip to Hawai‘i for care.
What if the call drops or I miss it?+
Call our main number, (808) 439-6201, and our team will reconnect you or reschedule.
Patient Reviews
What patients say

“I was very impressed by Dr. Morton. He cares for his patients and explains the different procedures so that we can understand, and I like that he doesn’t pressure us and gives us a lot of options. I came in from Kaua‘i and I’m glad I did get to see him.”

“Since I live on Maui, I started my search for an orthopedic surgeon and found that robotics was an important factor to consider. I first had a total knee replacement on my left knee and it went so well, I had my right knee done seven months later. I am back to doing all the activities that I hobbled through for so many years.”
