Orthopedic Care for Pearl City & ‘Aiea
Orthopedic Care for Patients in Pearl City & ‘Aiea, Hawai‘i
Pearl City and ‘Aiea sit between our two O‘ahu clinics, which gives you a choice. Waipahu/Kunia is usually the shorter drive. The Ala Moana clinic in Honolulu may be easier if you work in town. Both have in-house physical therapy and walk-in orthopedic urgent care through Wiki Wiki Orthopedics.
Many patients here work at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, in the shipyard, in healthcare, or in retail and service jobs that are hard on hands, shoulders, and knees. Others are managing arthritis or getting back to the sports they love. We treat work injuries, including workers’ compensation claims, as well as sports injuries, fractures, and worn-out joints. Most patients start with nonsurgical care.

Complete Orthopedic Care
Orthopedic care in one coordinated system
From diagnosis and physical therapy to injections, advanced procedures, surgery, and recovery. Not every orthopedic problem needs surgery, and Pacific Bone & Joint is set up to move you through the right level of care instead of pushing everyone toward one treatment.
- 1EvaluationA focused history and exam to find the source of the problem, not just the location of the pain.
- 2ImagingX-ray and diagnostic ultrasound are available in the office, so most problems can be imaged during the visit. MRI is arranged when it will change the plan.
- 3Physical therapyPB&J Physical Therapy works inside our Honolulu and Waipahu/Kunia clinics.
- 4InjectionsCorticosteroid and other injections, with ultrasound guidance when accuracy matters, and PRP or BMAC for selected patients.
- 5Office proceduresUltrasound-guided carpal tunnel release and trigger finger release, with local anesthesia and no hospital stay for most patients.
- 6SurgeryArthroscopy, ACL and meniscus surgery, cartilage restoration, fracture care, and hip and knee replacement, including revision.
- 7RecoveryPost-operative protocols, bracing, and follow-up coordinated by the same team that planned your care.
Who will I see?
Pacific Bone & Joint is a team-based orthopedic practice. Depending on the reason for your visit, your care may involve an orthopedic surgeon, a physician assistant, a physical therapist, imaging staff, or another member of the orthopedic team. Surgical decisions and operations are handled by the surgeon. Other parts of your evaluation, rehabilitation, follow-up, injections, and recovery may involve other clinicians.
Common Conditions We Treat
What brings Pearl City & ‘Aiea patients to us
Work injuries
Shoulder strains, hand and wrist injuries, knee injuries, and fractures. Workers’ compensation is accepted at all four clinics.
Carpal tunnel and trigger finger
Common in hand-intensive work. Office-based, ultrasound-guided release is an option when splints and injections are not enough.
Shoulder pain
Rotator cuff problems, arthritis, and frozen shoulder, which is more common in people with diabetes.
Knee arthritis
From physical therapy and injections to robotic-assisted partial or total knee replacement.
Fractures
Wrist, ankle, and hand fractures, with casting or bracing, follow-up X-rays, and surgery when a break needs it.
Foot and ankle pain
Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon problems, and ankle arthritis in people who stand all day.
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
Orthopedics and physical therapy, coordinated
Many orthopedic conditions improve without surgery. PB&J Physical Therapy works inside our Honolulu and Waipahu/Kunia clinics, so you can move from diagnosis to rehabilitation with one coordinated plan, and your therapist and orthopedic provider can talk about your progress.
You do not need to be a surgical patient to do therapy with us, and Hawai‘i allows direct access to physical therapy without a physician referral (some plans still require one for coverage). Not every patient needs therapy; it is recommended when it fits the problem.

Common Questions
Questions from Pearl City & ‘Aiea patients
Which clinic should I go to?+
Either one. Waipahu/Kunia is usually closer for Pearl City, and ‘Aiea patients often split the difference based on where they work. Both clinics have in-house physical therapy and Wiki Wiki walk-in orthopedic care. Think about where you will go for repeated therapy visits.
Do you accept workers’ compensation?+
Yes, at all four clinics. Before the visit, have your date of injury, your employer’s name and contact, confirmation that the injury was reported, and the workers’ compensation carrier, claim number, and adjuster contact if one has been assigned.
I got hurt at work today. Can I be seen today?+
Wiki Wiki Orthopedics accepts walk-ins at our Waipahu/Kunia and Honolulu clinics. Bring your employer and claim information if you have it. For severe injuries, such as a bone through the skin or loss of feeling, go to an emergency department.
Do you offer ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release?+
Yes. The procedure uses real-time ultrasound and a very small incision, is done in the office with local anesthesia, and avoids a hospital operating room for most patients. Whether you are a candidate depends on your exam and testing.
Can physical therapy and orthopedic follow-up be coordinated?+
Yes. Your therapist and your orthopedic provider work in the same practice, so your treatment plan, progress, and return-to-work timing can be coordinated without starting over at a different organization.
Do you treat fractures?+
Yes. We treat new fractures with casting, bracing, or surgery as needed, and we also treat fractures that have healed poorly or not healed at all.
